In general, this scene is just very boring.  There is no activity.  All I see
is a very boring uncompleted spacestation.  Add some people and some life!  It
will help the scene to come alive.
Objects by themselves bore the viewer; activity entices!

I'd like to have seen the girders made from I-beams instead of smooth
(toruses?).
Also the surface textures are WAY too even.

I've tried to design a 2001-looking space station in the past too, but it was
not as half as good as yours! Very nice! Very technical!

Nicely detailed, except for the closer parts.  Three 2001 images were a bit
much.
