Artistically, missed it by "that much" but I am not an artist 
so I can not suggest what might have helped. 

BTW: the "good and evil" are also generally considered 
to be sex but that is only implied in the story. 

I think a slight improvement with the human figures having 
a touch of ior to distort in addition to simply shading the 
background image.

Good atmosphere, but the explosion in the background does not at all look like
mushroom cloud. Such a cloud is much less ragged, particularly, the clouds of
the first explosions were a lot taller.

I love the mushroom cloud, as well as the effect with 
Adam & Eve. The only improvement idea I can offer is to 
add more detail to the heightfield. It looks too smooth. 
Other than that, this is an excellent image.

I like your image, especially the concept, because I still 
wonder who put the poor apple in the whole messy tale. 
This does not diminish the artistic approach of the 
image, which I think is balanced and expressive, 
although with visible symmetry. It is difficult to work with 
such extensive hues as fire and smoke have. It is also 
one of the best results with  media I have seen until 
now. My sincere congratulations.
