The techincal merit vote is entirely for the head in the foreground; it is very well done, realistic and recognizeable.

From Martin.Magnusson.7121@student.uu.se:
The statue head is great. Very good modelling, very good texture. Quetzalcoatl
himself and the rays are good too, but there's something about the ground. It's
too... brown maybe. And not enough medium-sized bumps. There are tiny grains
and larger wavy bumps, but I think there should be more irregularities. I hope
you see what I mean.

From jerry@hoboes.com:
Nice! Quetzalcoatl himself looks just a bit plastic. It might also have worked better in the "historical" theme by contrasting or working with what was actually seen as the return of Quetzalcoatl.

Where are the feathers on the one in the sky?

Where are the pointed teeth on the stone head? Ignoring
the mammalian teeth, I like all the bottom half of the
picture. It has something between realistic and surrealistic.
And if I ignore the lack of feathers in the sky, I like the top
half for the same reason. You should have been around
when they needed movie posters for "Q".

The stone head underneath is _very_ good and really looks like one, but the
snake above and the blinding light look a lot like a candy. It's too colorful
and too violet to be taken seriously.
I also like the parts of the pyramids that are visible and the moss covering
them.

Evocative and intriguing. Fine work, particularly on the statue. Good text file, too.

From ethelm@bigfoot.com:
Striking and imaginative image. Maybe 'not quite' history
but relationship is there & very well done.

Topicality on the edge... Aztecs are an interesting
subject, and their mythology could be
an important part of the image, but not as if it actually
happened. Aztecs practicing
cult in front of a Quetzal' representation would be
better...

Impressive modeling on the foreground statue.
