From sshaw@fas.harvard.edu:
The sextant is well done, but I would have preferred to see it in some larger scene. Perhaps in use, or with other antiquated navigation tools.

=====
From Martin.Magnusson.7121@student.uu.se:
The sextant model is good, but something is lacking. The scene needs more of
a story, IMHO.
By the way, what is Thumbsplus?

"Old"????? Looks fresh out of the plastic-wrap package.

From jerry@hoboes.com:
This is a very nice looking sextant; has it ever actually been used in the field? :*)

From gregj56590@aol.com:
Elegant, simple composition which speaks of a cool theme. Wood texture is wrong.

From bsieker@techfak.uni-bielefeld.de:
Very nice modelling, but the brass material is too 'smooth' or has a too high
ambient setting.
Brass is either very smooth and then it is almost as reflective as a mirror,
or it is rough and matte, but then is is not as clean and uniform.
I would appreciate some details on how you did this.

From gmccarter@hotmail.com:
Quite nice. Almost too nice, actually. All the edges are razor-sharp and precise. Needs some radii, waviness, dents to become an "old" sextant. Dents/wear in the wood would help, too. Water drops are a nice effect.

From davidwilkinson@cwcom.net:
Nicely constructed hardware, but the reflected background lines spoil it.

From ethelm@bigfoot.com:
The sextant looks authentic, very well done. The finish
looks more like yellow paint than brass. Perhaps objects
out of the frame, reflecting in the surface might have
improved it.

From bobfranke@halcyon.com:
A very nice model of a sextant, but I don’t see the
connection with history. With such a close up of the
wood try creating an image map for a heightfied to make
raised grain.

From r@pluto.icom-solutions.com:
Very nicely modelled but the texture needs to be less shiny and unused looking.
Notable for modelling
