A good start. Try creating complex textures. Also I
would add some clouds and a distant ground fog to give
the feeling of depth.

From tony@j4tb.com:
I actually like the lighter green at the lower elevations. It gives the illusion
of a glow at the bottom. This would make a great home world for the
Tommyknockers in the Steven King Novel. The composition is kind of artistic in
a simple sort of way. Loads of potential (but I'm not sure what I would do with
it.)

From harlidobib@redshift.com:
Try toning down the colors, and adding some fog. If the mountains in the
background faded off in the distace, you'd get a better sense of scale and it
would look more realistic. Keep trying! :)

From jd@surveyor.in-berlin.de:
A try on some clouds or a gradient at the sky wouldn't had hurt...
and maybe some birds. The green of the valleys is looking really
wild... and toxic.

Awesome attitude! Best of luck to you in the future;)

Very cartoony (and I mean that in a good way; cool, no doubt.) Simple atmosphere
adds to the effect of the scene.

From warp@iki.fi:
The mountain texture is way too dark. Looks like the green stuff was glowing,
like some radiactive material.
There could be a more clear sunlight coming from a certain direction. Shading
and shadows are just too faint to see.
Also more detail could have helped giving the impression on wilderness; for
example forests, birds, clouds and so on.

You've gotta start somewhere

=====
From chris_hormann@gmx.de:
Well... you could definitely spent some more time for "fine tuning" :-)
This could lead to a quite convincing air view of some mountain region

From gmccarter@hotmail.com:
If the green was red, it would look like lava.

From peter@table76.demon.co.uk:
I like the way the texture varies with height, but I think the picture would
be clearer if the rock layer were lighter.

=====
From albiaprime@aol.com:
The sky would look better in a slightly lighter shade of blue with a few clouds
scattered about. Try and use a green colour on the height field that doesn't
make
it look like it is glowing from beneath. A few lakes in the mountain range
would
probably look very nice because they could reflect the surrounding peaks and the
sky.
Not bad for a first attempt.
