The image is composed well but it has too much ambient light. The lava looks cool but there should be a reflection off the rocks. I don't know if you used any media here but I think this image could have been done much nicer with it.

Artistic - interesting, though a banded atmosphere for the planet would have made
    this a really great shot.  nice effort 
Technical - nice effort, if I may suggest, try getting ahold of Moray for modeling
    as it will allow you to layer your heightfields with semi transparent textures
    and produce better depth of field for a more believeable mountain side texture
Concept - a sci-fi wilderness, stretching the topic a bit but acceptable for partial marks
