IMAGE DESCRIPTION:

I used to have a "pet" cat spider and when this topic came up I thought I would
try to
recreate the scene I saw looking out my sliding glass window at her. I ended up
using some
creative license because the wheat fields that really lay outside are a little
boring,
so I moved my friend to a more appealing location.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THIS IMAGE WAS CREATED:

This is my first real effort using macro's and height fields. I usually stay
indoors
where things are easier and can mostly be made of boxes :)

I made the ground with Terregen. The spider web is a height field I made using a
picture
of a real spider web.

The spider was modelled in Amapi. Its the only modeller I have any luck with.

I used Gilles Trans' Maketree macro to make the trees. I have to admit to being
dense when
it comes to macros but for this one I managed to figure it out.
(Yeah!!! I can finally make trees :)

I spent a few weeks agonizing over the atmosphere and the lighting. Being
outside is such a
challenge...I finally gave it up. I haven't got a clue how to make it more
realistic looking.
I'd love to have feedback on this scene, especially on the how-to's.
