The background is interesting but lacks realism. I am not sure what is with the (planet?) either, something is strange with it’s texturing. The bears I can not comment on as they do not appear to be 3D generated. However, I will tell you that their integration into the scene is very poor.
P.S. Why did you have shadows on the bear image, yet no shadows in the 3D output?

From rjhansen@myrealbox.com:
Has a nice surrealistic feel.

From klynn@telefish.net:
cool image (heh)
The low technical score is because the focal point of the image is not a 3D model, but a simple 2D texture.

Good image. Birds a nice touch.

From tom@tomandlu.co.uk:
Lots to see, but the image suffers a lot from unintergrated elements.

From edward_dixon2001@yahoo.com:
The mountains could use a little work, I think. And I don't normally nitpick, but polar bears and penguins live at opposite ends of the planet.

From lrwii@joplin.com:
Like the birdy. If you want to higher score DON'T use a
picture as the main subject! And if you use a picture in a
scene match the lighting.

From quinet@gamers.org:
Hmmm... Of course, the bears look nice, but then they are taken from a
photo and not from a 3D model. Unfortunately, the lighting and the focal blur
are not the same on all parts of the picture, so it looks more like a collage
than a real image.

When I first saw this I was blown away. In fact, if I were judging I would of givin it a first place medal. The work on the bears is magnificent! However, later I became convinced it was just a 2-D photo. Your explanation, was very vague, but you did admit it was a 2-D texture that you claim you created in PSP. You also state you 'integrated' it into your work. It certainly does not look like a UV texture on a model to me. I find it a bit hard to chew when you stated you created this bear image as well, and I can almost swear i've seen that image somewhere before. More puzzing, is how you can draw photo-real shadows, yet did not add any shadows in your 3-D render? Your 3D work just is not up to par in comparison. Sadly, you also did not include your source files, was there something you were trying to cover-up?

Interesting collage idea, but falls just short of convincing. It can be hard to mix the detail of photos with the qualities of rendered art.
Notable for composition

ambitious idea, but no hard to create in Vue d'Esprit
