Cool picture! I like the concept...made me laugh when I figured out what was going on. I'm not sure I like the wall texture though...too many colors...feels really noisy. The books...it would have been cool to create a macro to place random titles on them, so they don't look so much like colored blocks. Still...good job!

Good concept. Good job on Christmas tree & bookcases. Wall texture needs work.

i like the idea a lot. but the objects arent edited right.

From hildurka@simnet.is:

Your textures need a lot of work and the lighting of the scene seemes strange. But I like the concept.

From somers@w-link.net:
Textures need some work, mayby scale wall texture smaller?
fireplace bricks look very out-of-proportion.
maybe a stronger AA?

tree looks nice, bookslelves are nice too.

I don't like very much the library, but the rest of the scene is very nice. The subject also is original. PB

Pretty good joke, indeed ... Depicting the moment BEFORE something happens !
So this image is containing nothing mysterious at all ;-)

Nice idea :-)

LOL. This scene has a great concept. You should make the film more closer to the render camera so we can get a better view of what’s on there. Also the books could use with some texturing to prevent them from looking like simple colored cubes.

Funny image. The tree and the floor are good, but the other parts of the image need better textures (for instance, a specular finish for the camera holder).

From p_chan@shaw.ca:
Nice work on the tree. The textures look quite good for
the most part, but the tripod for the camera and the
bookshelves seem a little out of place because the
texture/detail isn't up to par with the other objects in the
scene.

Amazing how Christmes is differently assumed in every culture.

From glenn@mccarters.net:
Nice design. The shoes are well done, as is the Christmas tree.
I think the viewpoint should be moved over slightly such that the camera =
tripod is not cut out of the image. The books seem to be a little plain =
- need some illustrations and text, perhaps.

Pretty good modelling. There is some abominable wall paper, however. The books are a bit gaudy, and the overall scene suffers from unfortunate ambient lighting, which washes it out a bit. What is the object on the coffee table, on the lower pane? It is a bit distracting. Need to finish the textures on the tripod. The camera is neat - the separate perspective in the view finder is a nice detail.
Notable for modelling
