Very interesting picture, well done. More "surreal" than "mystery" however...

From rgow@lanset.com:
Some good ideas here, but airships could use a lot more detail.

From thegreatbambeeno@yahoo.com:
the water is good, but the rest is thppbbtptpbpt.

From hildurka@simnet.is:
I find the concept a little vague, could have been better explained in the text file. Nice scene with a lot of potential. Good work.

From somers@w-link.net:
Um, where do the pilots sit?

=====
From pbrasolin@yahoo.it:
Nice image. I like especially the texture on the front of the airships, with those details. PB

From info@michaelscholz.de:
The dark building's textures are awfull and spoil the
image.

=====
From the_dark_allies@hotmail.com:

Some nice looking water, though the sky looks too much as that typical poor Bryce sky. The buildings are interesting but could use some more texture improvements.

From zio_tom78@hotmail.com:
Good water and sky. The scene lacks some details, expecially on the airships.

=====
From p_chan@shaw.ca:
The water looks very nice. The airships are modelled
fairly well, but they lack any sign of a compartment for
people or sensors, which would enhance the intended
idea of a search.

Cool idea! Airships are cool. I like the combination of elements too, =
water, old buildings, sky, "blimps". I've got two bits of constructive =
criticism for you.=20

First, man I wish you though more about the camera. This scene has =
unlimited options for places to look from and places to look to! You =
could make hundreds of images based on this one! For example imagine =
being IN the gondola looking over the shoulder of a rescue worker - he's =
looking through binoculars, in the distance you see another airship - =
maybe with a spot light - maybe pulling some one up (illustrating their =
purpose). Or how about looking our from the wreckage of one of the =
buildings while up high above is the airship. I really think you could =
get more drama out of this image by including foreground elements and =
exploiting the height and size of the balloons.

Secondly, these buildings are in GREAT shape! Really, I've lived in =
worse places! All of the buildings still have glass in their windows! =
There's no holes in the walls, no fire, no wreckage below sticking out =
of the water. Who want's to be rescued from there! That's Venice! This =
gives me an idea... what if one of these buildings was recognizable? =
Famous? Like the Statue of Liberty or the Eiffel Tower (both by the way =
were engineered by Eiffel). That would get some curiosity going about =
what happened.

Richard, I always feel bad giving criticism here because I can't tell =
how it's being received and it's hard in writing to express some things. =
I do line your work and I hope I haven't been too harsh. You've worked =
hard and have a very interesting image. If you do other versions of it =
I'd love to see what you come up with!

Michael

I like this image. I wish it had a little more detail and was rendered =
bigger. Some items like street lights, a statue, ruins, etc. would help =
to round-out the image. Pretty good concept. Good movement suggested =
in the majestic blimps, but the nearby one seems about to run its engine =
into a building!

HOw dare you make a model of my mother without asking. BUt I think you did a pretty good job considering you were using Bryce.

Tenuous connection to the theme.
