I liked the concept.  and the technical components were done quite well.  It is just missing something that pushes it from a good image to a spectacular one.  I think what is missing is attention to realistic aspectics.  The wood is too clean there needed to be signs that this was probably a hand made device with nicks and wear marks - add some grunge to help it give it a bit of age so it doesn't have that 3D look.
