Nice lighting and artistic. How about some more variation in the terrain. Some
rocks, clay, scrub, all could have been added to help out the image yet keep
the cactus as the dominant object and the feeling of isolation.

Very very nice sky

From rgow@lanset.com:
You don't state how the lens flare was added, and I'm not familiar with Vue, so
I'm giving the benefit of the doubt, but please check rules regarding posr
processing.

Good picture. The cactus is well modeled, the sky and sand textures are good,
and the ripples on the sand are nice though they could use a bit of randomness.
 Nice lens effect too.

I like very much the sky

From jacoons@ameritech.net:
Lense flare and sun work together well here. If there were "real" dunes, then
surface of the cactus' shadow would be distorted accordingly, which would have
added a little more realism, otherwise, they are pretty good. Also, I'm not
quite sure why the highlights on the dunes appear to be coming from the left
when the sun is front and center.

From ericf@foothill.net:
I'm not sure if I'm right in this, but I think you rarely see cactus in sand
dunes, just because the ground it typically shifting in depth with sand, so the
cactus might be buried before it gets very far, so it doesn't have a very real
feeling for me. I do like the dunes and ripples, and the sky is very good.

Nice image. My only comments would be a-it's a pretty standard sample
atmosphere, b-some disturbance of the sand at the base of the cactus would be
good and c-I thought lens flare was a no-no in this competition but actually I
like it.
